Former Chief of Staff at Intergovernmental Affairs, Office of the Premier of Ontario


Mel Wright is the former Chief of Staff for Intergovernmental Affairs to Premier Kathleen Wynne. In her role she helped facilitate trade missions to China, India, Israel and several US states. She served as Director of Tour on both of Wynne's election campaigns and as Deputy Director of Tour on Justin Trudeau's 2015 campaign.

Mel worked for the Ontario Liberal government since 2010. Some of her previous roles include Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructure, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Government Services, and Deputy Director of Communications to the Minister of Finance.

Mel has an Honours BA from Dalhousie University in Economics and International Development, and an MA in International Relations and Political Science from the Munk School of Global Affairs.
